Based on the life journey of legendary singer Padmashree Mohammad Rafi Sahib, this film was first telecasted on Zee Classic at 10.30 am on 24th Dec. 2018. It was then projected same day on Tata Sky at 3 pm and on Airtel DTH at 7 pm. It had happened first time in history.
It has been widely acclaimed and appaluded by each and every viewer at more than 100 private screenings so far, which includes a special show in front of 5000 Jawans of Indian Army in Hyderabad, who not only watched it anxiously but enjoyed and danced on the tunes of Rafi Sahib’s unforgettable numbers. It took 4 years in making of this film, which was shot not only in Punjab, Delhi, Gujrat and Mumbai, but also in Pakistan to capture various events and places related to Rafi Sahib’s life.
This film contains interviews of 60 + celebrities including Shammi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Jitendra, Khyyam, Pyarelal, Ravi, Ravindra Jain, Uttam Singh, Mubarak Begum, Lekh Tandon, Sudesh Bhosle and Anuradha Podwal and features 60 ever loving songs of Rafi Sahib. Interview of great contemporary singer Shamshad Begum makes it more interesting, as she was thrilled to face the camera after a gap of 20 years.
