Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s historical series on the life of the orphaned, abandoned founder of Maurya Empire & his camaraderie with the greatest teacher, philosopher & royal advisor Chanakya has finally reached in the final leg after a 5 year leap & the show has seen the introduction of many fresh faces. Kartikey Malviya was replaced by Faisal Khan who made his debut as a fine adult after being a known face as a child artist after he starred in Maharana Pratap. Faisal Khan who now plays Chandragupta will be romantically paired opposite a relatively fresh face, actress Dr. Aditi Sanwal, last seen in critically acclaimed short film ‘Lip Kiss’. With a theater & ad film background, Dr. Aditi will step into the shoes of Durdhara, Magadh Princess who’s also Dhananand’s sister, she shares, ‘I’m pretty excited to make my debut with a Chandragupta Maurya & my character is layered. I’ve done theater & a couple of ad films but doing an out and out historical show, I never saw that coming. There’s enough scope for me to learn as the women on the show have strong characters & as important to the male protagonists. I’m looking forward to a lot of learning on-the-go.’
